Bedford City School District's insurance plan conducts periodic audits of dependent eligibility to help control costs and keep its enrollment records up to date. Our most recent dependent audit began in April, 2025.

If you cover one or more family members on Bedford City Schools' medical insurance, you are required to fully participate in the 2025 audit. In the first half of April, you should have received a personalized audit packet in the mail at your home address. The information arrived in an envelope like the one pictured below:

The packet includes instructions for completing the mandatory verification and all of the forms you need to participate. The packet is personalized to you; please do not share it with others.

You will be required to provide copies (not originals) of documents confirming your dependents' relationship to you, for example, a marriage certificate or birth certificate. If you need copies of any required documentation, please begin that process right away. The vital statistics website (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm) can help you determine where to obtain these documents, and most court records can be obtained directly from the courthouse.

BMI Audit Services can answer all of your questions about the dependent verification process. The packet you received includes a toll-free helpline as well as instructions to access BMI's secure online portal.

IMPORTANT! The dependent verification audit applies only for staff who cover one or more family members on Bedford City School District's medical insurance. If you are not enrolled in the medical plan, or if your medical coverage includes only yourself, you will not receive a packet from BMI.
